Pregnancy was good for my looks: my hair got thicker, my skin cleared up and I slimmed down with all my weight shifting onto my bump. Even those first few post-pregnancy months weren’t too bad. I may have had dark circles under my eyes and baby sick on my shoulder but the hair, and the skin, they made up for it.But apparently six months is the longest duration a body will decide to be forgiving. It started with the back pain – at least it’s getting better now – and with any luck soon my bones will be back to their pre-pregnancy shape, even if my fat deposits aren’t.
Then there was the hair. Big clumps of it falling out in the shower, whenever I brushed it. Hell, whenever I even touched it.
But the final blow was the skin. Oh how I’d enjoyed my skin being relatively spot clear. It was good while I was pregnant and only got better once I’d finished work and wasn’t trekking through the grime of the city daily. But there was a spot. And another. And another. And now, once again, I look like a spotty teen in the midst of a breakout.
I suggested to the husband that the only solution was to get pregnant again. He wasn’t so convinced.

I was going to say after the first few lines solution = pregnancy!! (Just dont start trying whilst I’m here!) ;o) xxx

I’ve been told I’m not allowed yet
Ooooh I feel your pain. I was the most healthiest I have ever been while pregnant, my skin was amazing….. then slowly, it all went down hill. sigh.

I’m sure it wasn’t anywhere near this bad the first time around.
I liked being pregnant as I finally had a reason to look pregnant…

I’m not even going to talk about my stomach. Suffice it to say my clothing choices are made much more carefully these days.
I swear by Clean and Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash when I wash my face in the shower and Lush “Coal Face” soap at night before I go to bed. I freaking love this Lush soap and it was created after the black soap used in “Annie Hall.”
I get the occasional breakout once a month, but who doesn’t!
I’ve had to pick up using Avon’s clearskin professional range – it seems to be the only thing that gets close to helping. When the next catalogue comes around I’ll be resorting to their glycolic peel pads. Chemical burns can sort spots, right?
I’m 6 months pregnant and still awaiting that pregnancy glow. My hair, which was already thick, is now verging on bushy and my skin, which was not-too-brilliant-but-not-too-bad, is now dry and (as if in sympathy with my belly) bumpy. At least I now have a cleavage to detract from my face…
My hair comes out in clumps too. I pull handfuls out on a regular basis. So did half the kids I work with but for different reasons! Anyhow I’m told that once I get some iron into my blood it’ll come out much less frequently and my skin would be better too. When was the last time they checked your iron count?
BTW the head and shoulders is working miracles. 3 days today since I started and it’s faded by half.
Still not convinced… and after this week having 3 kiddos in the house made me even more convinced that stopping at 2 might be the way for it!!!
