After Tuesday’s mammoth diet FAIL, there was a definite points deficit in my WeightWatchers online tracker. On the plus side, it’s realistic that I could pull things back by this weekend and not go through the trauma of losing all my stars.
I’m a member of what the core board call the ‘gold star challenge’. For each core day you complete you get a star. For a day to be core you have to stick to the list of core foods and not go above your 21 points per week and any bonus points you have gained. Thanks to Tuesday’s slip I had used 58 points in total. I’ve now gained 25 bonus points so by my math I’m still 12 points down. If I gain gain that many in bonus points and not use any more points by the end of Sunday, I get to keep my stars.
I don’t, however, think that keeping all my stars will help my weight loss this week. Sure, all the effort I’ll have to put in will hopefully stop any further damage, but by now things are beyond help. WeightWatchers used to recccomend that you only use up to 12 bonus points a week. I’ve never been great at keeping to that rule, but also never go too far beyond it either. At times when I have, I’ve noticed that my weight loss hasn’t really happened. While the 12 bonus points rule seems to have been scrapped now, I still try to keep to around that many, give or take a few. It just seems to work for me.
So, while I can’t see myself losing any weight this week, and it’ll be a miracle if I don’t gain, life doesn’t suck as much as I thought this Thursday, because I’ve gotten straight back on track, I’m fixing the damage I’ve caused, and next week is a new and better week.
Oh, and I’ve got my first proper personal training session this evening.

Yeah, for you that today doesn’t suck as much as you though, I think! That is, if I can get my head around all those points!!! What works for me is proper food combining if I can just get back in to it!
