Having been tagged by NuttyMummy, I welcome you all to an exhbition of my shoes. Bring out your nose pegs/gas masks because this is gonna be one smelly ride!
Exhibit A show… Oh crap! That’s not my shoes, that’s Y attempting to get a moment of glowstars.net fame.

So, back to Exhibit A: My pink Havaianas flash. Bought whilst we were on our honeymoon in Ilhabela and I realised I had absolutely no beach shoes to wear.

Exhibit B: Wedge sandals from Dune. Bought in the outlet store on one of our regular trips to Gunwharf while we were living in Portsmouth. Stupidly left behind when we moved back from Brasil until we were joyously reunited when we returned at the beginning of this year. Unfortunately at that point I found they weren’t quite as comfy as they’d once been.

Exhibit C: Wedge flipflops from Faith. Bought after my birthday in summer 2006 when B1 had given me a DP gift-card which I used in the mammoth Topshop on Oxford Street. Can’t be worn for long periods of time because they do tend to give me horrific blisters.

Exhibit D: Pumps from DP. I bought these less than a year ago, and managed to live in them over the winter. Unfortunately now the heels are very worn down, and so are the backs so I’ve had to put heel pads in them to cushion my steps. I still can’t bear to part with them though.

Exhibit E: My smelly trainers. I got these for Christmas last year and used them mainly for the journey to work. Then they started to get smelly (funny how a run in the washing machine doesn’t seem to solve that one) so they got used less and less. Now I seem to only use them for the gym.

Exhibit F: Black Havaianas. V bought me a pair of these back from Brasil in the autumn of 2006, and I didn’t get a chance to start wearing them until the next summer (funnily enough). Throughout the summer I lived in them but everywhere I went with Y he seemed to step on the backs causing the thong to rip out. Then he did it one time too many (luckily whilst we were out in Brasil) and they died their final death. So I had to buy another pair. And he’s still stepping on the backs of these ones.

Exhibit G: Black pumps from Next. I bought these a few months back with some of the money I was given for my birthday (don’t you think money just stretches the birthday joy?). Of course the first time I wore them they absolutely killed and gave me the most horrible blisters. Now I’ve worn them in they’re as comfy as anything. It’s a shame though that they’re heading the same was as the silver ones.

At this point the location of the shoes changes from the floor at home to the desk at work. I find it useful to keep a couple of pairs there as I always weawr flats outside the office.
Exhibit H: Sandals from Riacheulo. I got this just before the mall shut, having dragged Y, TB and Y’s cousin L around Patio Brasil for an entire evevning searching for shoes to wear to Y2′s wedding earlier this year. They’re probably a size too small (barely anyone seems to go up to my size in Brasil – they all have small feet) but I can just about get away with it. I wore them for all of the few seconds I stayed at the wedding and they were fine. Then when we got back to Brasilia I went out in them and really regretted it – again I got some awful blisters. At the beginning of the summer I started to wear them in at work and now they’re perfect.

Exhibit I: Black shoes from DP (yes I do seem to get a lot of shoes from there). When I was starting to look for a new job mum bought me a new suit. She let me loose with her credit card and advised of a budget. I’d got a discount voucher for DP and by the time I’d bought the suit, I could get the shoes without hitting the budget.

And I tag you all. Whoever wants to bare their smelly shoes to the blogosphere is welcome. Just add yourself to Mr Linky below.
