With a summer splatter and a mani using straws sitting right next to each other in the Purple Crumpet Fairy Summer Challenge I had to think hard and plan my approach. I’d already established that it doesn’t work to stamp with a straw onto curved fake nails thanks to my Olympic Rings experiment so that option was out. I decided to do a full on splatter with the straws (check back on Friday for that one) and follow Kayla Shevonne’s rainbow splatter tutorial for the actual splatter. Seeing the two sets of nails next to each other I definitely prefer today’s splatter and the clean-up is much easier. No tape required.
I started with Revlon Powderpuff for a base and used China Glaze Gothic Lolita and Riveting, Maison D’Anu Electric Ave, Models Own Sunkissed and Zoya Ivanka and Kimber for the splatter. It’s a really simple technique as all you have to do is splodge on a bit of colour and drag it out with a dotting tool.
