Today I’ve got a really pic heavy post for you. I have a love/hate relationship with NailNation 3000 The Enchantress. It’s a beautiful polish and I’ve totally loved wearing it (you have to if you’re going to gel polish it and wear it for two + weeks) but it is the biggest pig to swatch! I first attempted it at the beginning of the year and wasn’t happy with most of the photos I took so I thought I’d put it away for a while until there was some sun to really do it justice. Even when the sun came out I had a pretty tough time trying to get pics. What you’re getting today is a mix of my two swatching sessions and when I gel polished it. It also seems to change every time the shutter goes and it seemed like every other picture I took revealed something different about the polish. It’s fab to wear something like that but not to photograph.
Both times I swatched The Enchantress I wore two coats. When I gel polished it I wore three (maybe four, I can’t entirely remember) coats but combining a polish with MegaMix does tend to make it more sheer than normal. The Enchantress is highly pigmented and the formula is nice and smooth so I encountered no issues. Maria suggests that a third coat will make the green flecks in this one pop more. I really should’ve tried that out but I’m not sure you could handle any more photos in one post!
So, what’s in the bottle? Holo, of course, but also a black crelly base, glass flecks that shift between emerald and olive, more holo and more flecks. I seriously don’t know how so much can be packed into one bottle and still end up feeling so smooth when dry.
