I don’t often do greens (except in nail art) so you can guarantee that when I do it’s because they’re stunning. I’d fallen in love with Colors by Llarowe Gemini Rising for a long time before I finally managed to buy it but despite it’s faults I’m still glad that I did.
What faults? I hear you ask. This one is a stainer. Like big time. I only had two or three coats (like Radiant Orchid, I can’t quite remember) on for the time it took me to paint and take pics but it left my nails a delightful shade of yellowey green. I carried on swatching afterwards and even all that acetone (and some post swatching buffing) didn’t remove the staining. In fact it was still there after I’d applied and removed gel polish. If you’re going to wear this polish I’d recommend an amazing base coat. Or layers of gel underneath. Even better, an inch thick layer of acrylic.
That said, the formula was nice and smooth and I had no issues getting it on to the nail. And it is a freaking amazing colour so that’s another plus. Maybe I’ll get it in some MegaMix and wear it as gel – see if that staining happens again.
