You can’t knock a good nail vinyl for some quick and easy nail art (at least the nail art part is quick, not the waiting for your base colour to dry!). Unfortunately I’m on the fence about these holo star nail vinyls. Vinyls aren’t the easiest thing to use on nails with a good curve and solid apex – it’s a bit like trying to stick them on to a baseball – there are too many curves to manage. That said, the stickiness of these ones meant that the vinyl didn’t spring off the curved parts of the nail. However they were too sticky – it was damn near impossible to get the vinyl off the tips. Maybe it would be easier with a natural nail, seeing as how it’s solidly stuck to your finger, but I would imagine there’s a danger of ripping your base polish away. I much preferred the middle nail where I used the remaining cut outs as stickers. I will admit that the idea of holo stickers was what drew me to these in the first place anyway.
If you want to do this mani for yourself, I used W7 Black as the base and then sponged on Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe. You can get the the Holo Star Nail Vinyls from Born Pretty Store priced £1.93 (US $2.74) for a sheet of nine. Don’t forget to use code BPL91 for 10% off your order.
