Disclosure
I am a blogger. I like to tell you what I think. Some people say you can’t shut me up. This is a personal blog written and edited by me but from time to time I may invite guest posters to write here. When that happens we’ll always let you know who’s writing, even if only to say the blogger has chosen to remain anonymous.
Sometimes I get given products to review. If I’ve been sent an item I’ll let you know. There may be times when I’ve been paid to write something; again I’ll let you know. If I have been influenced in any way other than my love (or hate) for a product or service then I’ll let you know.
Of course, if you prefer a more formal version of disclosure you can read the following boring (but necessary) advice.
This blog is a personal blog written and edited by me. This blog accepts forms of cash advertising, sponsorship, paid insertions or other forms of compensation.
This blog abides by word of mouth marketing standards. We believe in honesty of relationship, opinion and identity. The compensation received may influence the advertising content, topics or posts made in this blog. That content, advertising space or post will be clearly identified as paid or sponsored content.
The owner(s) of this blog is compensated to provide opinion on products, services, websites and various other topics. Even though the owner(s) of this blog receives compensation for our posts or advertisements, we always give our honest opinions, findings, beliefs, or experiences on those topics or products. The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely the bloggers’ own. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.
I am a Huggies Mum and an independent blogger. My affiliation with Huggies does not change my capacity to blog independently. I have agreed to disclose in my postings when I receive a product, sample or sponsorship from Huggies. In no way am I financially rewarded by Huggies.
Comments
We all like comments, right? Yeah, I knew you were the same as me. So anyways, I figured I’d just let you in on my rules.
Comments will always be open on blog entries
I think one of the best things about reading others’ blogs is the ability to let them know what you think about the post that they’ve written. For that reason I will never close the comments on a blog entry. If the post is about something close to my heart, something I don’t want to discuss further, I just won’t reply to the comments. That said, comments automatically close after two weeks as an anti-spam measure. I’ll also close them on a giveaway post once the giveaway has ended.
The right to reply
I will nearly always reply in the comments box. If something deserves more attention that I feel the comments box can give it I will either amend the post or write another post on the subject. I will almost never email you in reply to your comment, unless it’s something that shouldn’t be said in the comments box (i.e. it’s confidential or sensitive) or my reply is personal to you and will take rather a long time and thought to write. If I don’t reply it’s nothing against you, it’s just that I have nothing to say.
I can’t promise I’ll comment on your blog
But I will add you into my reader. My reader is divided into sections, one of which is new blogs. Yours will sit in there for as long as it takes me to decide whether or not I like your style. If I don’t comment on your blog, again, it’s because I have nothing to say. Sometimes I don’t have an opinion or advice, sometimes there’s just no way to put what I feel into words. That doesn’t mean I’m not reading, I am. It just might take a while for me to show my face.
